Nitrox: If not yet certified this is a great opportunity to take advantage of the benefits of nitrox. Learn how nitrox can increase your no decompression bottom times, especially on repetitive dives. In this course you will learn how to manage oxygen exposure, analyze oxygen content in your scuba tank and how to set your dive computer for diving enriched air nitrox.
Specialty Courses: Already an AOW diver and want to get your deep diver or boat diver specialty card? This is the time to do it.

The colony of California sea lions at Los Islotes are quite famous and will entertain you for hours with their playful underwater antics. Moray eels are so numerous at certain sites that we joke about them living in “moray condos”. There are lots of turtles in these waters and you will likely spot large schools of jacks, tunas, lots of small rays, garden eels and species of fish too numerous to count. Giant manta rays are present but sightings have been sparse in the last couple of years. Hammerhead sharks can sometimes be observed at the famous El Bajo seamount. Invertebrate life includes stony corals, seafans, gorgonians and yellow colonial tubastrea corals. Unforgettable topside experiences include the spectacular starlit Mexican sky at night, deserted white sand beaches to explore further inland into the desert, a unique opportunity to dive in a mangrove swamp (which is way cooler than the name may imply) and perhaps even visiting a small island and fishing community.

Guadalupe Island (Mexico) is the top destination for great white shark encounters. This small volcanic island, located in the Pacific 240 kilometres (150 miles) off the west coast of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, outperforms both South Africa and Australia with shark-seeing consistency and conditions. Only Guadalupe Island can boast shark viewing in beautiful clear blue water with 100 – 150 foot visibility. We have identified 261 unique great white sharks in the bay where we stage our submersible cage diving operations, which guarantees unforgettable encounters.
Diving With Great Whites
We offer a rich and natural shark encounter experience on these trips by descending down to 30 feet where great white sharks naturally spend their time. We don’t need to use chum at depth; the sharks are already there. We have seen up to nine great whites at once circling the cages. Without chum these great whites are more relaxed, exhibit much more curiosity, and come in much closer to the cages. It is an unforgettable rush when a great white looks at you from 50 feet away and then swims over for a closer look.

We will be diving with Olympus Dive Center out of Morehead City, NC., and plan to dive such wrecks as the German U-boat 352, Schurz a WWI gun boat, Papoose a tanker torpedoed by German U-boat 124 and the Aeolus sunk as part of the artificial reef program. All the dives are up to100’ – 110’ deep, so Advanced Open Water and Nitrox Certification are required for this trip.
